INFO FOR MINING ENGINEERING

Mining Engineering:

The Mining Engineer works with mineral deposits of all kinds from the time of their discovery through their evaluation and production.  Although the chief job of Mining Engineers is usually to get the most ore out to the ground for the least cost, they often work in many other areas such as research, safety, design, environment, pollution control, and management.  In addition, Mining Engineers must plan for such things as the construction of roads, airstrips, mine buildings, homes for the mine's employees, ventilation systems for the mine, safety features, and, after the mining ceases, provisions to restore the land for reuse for other purposes.
